Dog Groomer in Mitchell

Our golden retriever had a great experience with his deshed and outline trim. I’ve been looking for a good groomer that can handle my golden who gets overwhelmed at the groomers. Previously, when I have picked him up from other groomers, both locally and interstate, he was still damp and I had to trim him more to my style when he got home. I assumed he was just too much to handle. But the service at Central Bark was great from start to finish. The groom was exactly as I asked. The staff are very friendly and have dog whisperer vibes… He came home calmer, looking fresh and happy with his new haircut. Overall great experience and prices are comparable (if not, cheaper) to other Canberra prices.

Friendly staff that genuinely care for your fur baby. When you drop off your dog for grooming, you get complimentary access to the doggy day care s well, where your pet can play and socialise with other dogs. We used a mobile groomer for a while, but our pet was VERY reluctant to go into the van. More than the groomer, e feel it might have been the cramped space in the van that he found unsettling. But he was so keen to go into Central Bark, I was struggling to hang on to his leash. As soon as as they opened the door after check-in he shot straight through without a second look! :) Looked very smart and handsome after his grooming, with silky fur and only minor matted hair behind his ears. The best part is he was so tired when I picked him up (he was there the whole day -drop-off at 8:00am and pick up at 3:00pm). Evidence that he was playing the whole day. To me, that was the best thing. A full groom cost approximately $200, so it was on the higher side. Prices have grown consistently over the last few years and have outpaced inflation.

2nd groom here for my Labrador. He’s lovely & clean, sheds so much less, & smells good for much longer after his groom with the staff at Central Bark. Very happy w the service, dog always happy to come.

The team at Central Bark has have looking after our Mini Schnauzer Molly for some time now. They are always so welcoming (to me and her). They are caring and diligent and always do exactly as I ask in terms of her groom. Yesterday they went above and beyond and cleaned her teeth after I mentioned I was a little concerned about them. Molly came home with a gorgeous groom and pearly white teeth. Thank you so much Central Bark - can’t recommend you more highly.

After having two grooming appointments cancelled, for our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Central Bark were able to fit our two boys in within 24 hours. The results were very very good. Appreciated the service and the high quality of their work. Thank you. We will be back!

Huge thanks to the team at Central Bark for answering an SOS for a groom in what is no doubt the busiest week of the year leading into Christmas. Our dog's usual groom was cancelled due to circumstances beyond our groomers control and CB responded to my enquiry on a Sunday night with a spot the following day. Eddie looked great when I picked him up - exactly what was discussed at drop off.

This is the best groomers I’ve ever been to. We go every 8 weeks and our dog is so well looked after. I won’t go anywhere else.

Such good value for money. Daycare service makes it easy for people who struggle to book grooming due to work commitments. Usually go to the big pet store chains and my dog comes home with little nicks and doesn’t look/feel nearly as nice. Very excited for our next appt! 💛

I’ve been bringing my oldest dog, Cleo, here for a few years now. Despite her anxiety, she’s always had a great experience and comes out looking fantastic. My younger dog, Luca, gets excited every time I mention it’s haircut day—he’s learned that word! He always has a blast and looks amazing afterward. I wouldn’t trust my dogs with any other groomer.

Prices have gone up and this was not communicated until after the groom was done. Would have been appreciated if this was communicated as part of one of the 2 reminder SMS that I received or even at drop off in the morning.

Our dog Bubbles loves going to daycare here once a week. She is so excited to be there she doesn’t even want to say goodbye to us. I feel bad if she had to miss a week.

Absolutely the biggest rip off and not worth the amount they charge. Quoted me one price and charged way more. Didn’t even do a good job. Nails were not touched and my dogs ears were not cleaned at all. Had to drop my dog very early AM and he didn’t get done until late afternoon. I rang after 6 hours after drop off and they hadn’t even started. I would not recommend central bark pet styling. Great place friendly staff and great day care

Have taken my 2 pomeranians here for a few years and they always come out smelling amazing and looking perfect. I get one deshed and one shaved and they do a great job at both. One my poms is super anxious and so they can always accomodate me getting him in early and picking him up early. New location is much bigger and better!

Great grooming service. Preferred the Gungahlin location but Mitchell location is bigger, brighter and lovely.

One word to define their service... AMAZING!! I have a 38kg Briard and they did a wonderful job on her. I couldn't be happier! Totally recommend and absolutely coming back with my giant bear! Thank you so much Central Bark team! You guys rock!!

Terrible service! Picked up my Border Collie who still had hair falling off him. They charged me $160 and their prices don’t match their website! They charged me for a service not listed on their website & when I asked for a tax invoice, that I could review against, all I got was as per the photo… Not a valid tax invoice, it doesn’t include the ABN or a description of the type of service! Be very careful before using this company! Extremely overpriced and terrible service! My boy will definitely not be back! The owner Debbie did call me back and asked me to bring him back in so she could fix him, so that’s something at least.

Receptionist - Linda, is one of the most incompetent people we’ve had to deal with. If you need to ask for the owner because the receptionist can’t understand customer requirements they probably need to find new staff. Our dog was dropped off early morning (8:30am) for a cut, we were expecting to have them back by lunch as that had always occurred previously. After calling at 1:30pm, we were informed that our pup was not ready for collection and were told by the receptionist that we would receive a call once they were finished. This was not until 4pm. So after our dog had been there for 7.5 hours in a cage, we were finally able to collect them. We were told “if you need your dog by a certain time you need to arrange that with us”. We advised that it would have been kinder to our dog to have them attend after lunch if there was a delay in the service being provided. Once we got them home, they immediately ran to their water bowl and had a large drink. A clear indicator that they had not provided our dog with adequate water through the day if any at all. We have never had issues with the grooming, just the receptionist. The receptionist has also previous denied my mum picking our dogs up even after being presented with ID because my dad was the person who dropped them off, even though they have the same surname. We will not be bringing our dog back here anymore as we are extremely unhappy with the customer service we have been receiving. The groomers and haircuts are really nice, but the service being provided by reception has made us reconsider where we will be going next.
